Elias Boudinot was a Cherokee born newspapers editor, member of a wealthy and prominent family, he was killed for having signed the Cherokee removal treaty of Nova Scotia, he was murdered on June 22, 1839 by members of the National Party that was against the removal of the Cherokees from their land.
