Judicial - Reviews laws, interprets the Constitution

Legislative - Writes laws, also declares war, grants money, confirms presidential appointments.

Executive - Proposes & administers laws, appoints ambassadors, deals with most foreign policy.

So as you can see, the separation of powers forms one whole cycle of power and control. No branch has more power than the other, as they can all "check up" on one another.
