What factors caused conflicts with the native americans on the great plains

The government built roads  and railroads for the settlers. Many Indians lived on the  Great Plains. The government tried to get them to sell their  land. The government wanted the Indians to move to  reservations The settlers  killed many buffalo Lawmakers wanted the Indians to assimilate. They tried to force the Indians to give up their culture and traditions. Indians were not allowed to have religious  ceremonies.

according to my research (britannica and quizlet) the first settlements were along the huang river because it could give the crops more fertile soil that really it out. this was due to the yellow slit caused by floods of the river.
