Explain some of the factors that caused people to move west

There were multiple factors why people started to move towards the west, and some of the most important are:

- Safety;

Most of the problems with the native populations were regulated, so the atmosphere was much better, and it was much safer to move westwards.

The government was trying to motivate the people to move westwards by granting them free land, or land that was very cheap.

- Improved transportation;

The means of transportation were steadily improving, and that was of great help for moving over a big distance.

- New opportunity;

There were lots of people that were not doing very well in life, so the chance of new opportunity and the possibility for prosper were very attractive.
