During reconstruction, what happened to most african american families in the south?

During Reconstruction (Since 1865 until 1877), most of African American families in the south were in poverty, because when they were slavery they coudn´t study or receive wages by their strain, so for that reason, during the Reconstruction they couldn´t work in better places at the cities and most of them were in poorness, whereby they were forced to stay in rural territories, working in lumbering or farming to support their families.
