In 2014, the european space agency’s rosetta mission landed on comet 67p/churyumov-gerasimenko. the spacecraft detected the presence of water ice on the comet. does this finding allow the outside-in model to be elevated to a scientific theory? why or why not? yes, because it shows that comets could provide the water that forms earth's oceans. yes, because it shows that this was the only source of water available to earth. no, because this comet did not collide with earth so it does not support the theory. no, because data taken from a single comet is not sufficient to elevate a model to a theory.
