How did britain come to dominate north america?

here you go  this was a pretty hard question for me too so don't worry.

Great Britain had one of the largest navies of Europe in the 17th century. Although France explored Louisiana and Canada. Soon Britain had taken Canada from them, as well as New Amsterdam from the Dutch.
