What is the sociology imagination? why is it important to our understanding of society?

Mr. Wright Mills defined the sociological imagination as the vivid awareness of the relationship between personal experience and the wider society. in other words, it is ability to understand how personals experiences are shaped by historically - conditioned social force.

This is important to the society because it is going to challenge you think about how we fit into the bigger picture  of  it  and all of its complexities.

The sociological imagination is an idea adopted by the American sociologist C. Wright Mills to explain the capacity to consider yourself apart from the everyday habits of daily life and see at them from a completely new viewpoint. It is very important to our understanding of our society because everyone should aware of every situation. He/she should have their own point of views. They should not copy others because everytime everyone is not doing everything right.
