What is the advantage of protesting nonviolently rather than by using force? what are the disadvantages ?

Advantage means no revenge just, and right for nonviolent  resistance. Totally thinking above, there are two side's opinions here; so that we must stand on both sides on thinking of advantages or disadvantages. If the black people could not put up with white people's action, it would be terrible
