When Christopher Columbus landed  in the Caribbean Sea in 1492 changed the lives of the native populations in a lot of ways, the global economy joined American Continent as well, so the Columbian exchange was very important in the Columbu's discovery. The exchanges included plants, animals between American and Europe. At the beggining native latin Americans were forced to work on the plantations, agriculture was another activity. The Spanish also began mining for gold and silver. The social and  labor system en the 1600 was the Encomienda system.
