Why did general macarthur address congress after he was fired?

He wanted to apologize to President  Truman for insubordination: McArthur was one of the greatest heroes during the Korean War. He was able to conquer North Korea before China intervened. However, he was pulled out from the war because of insubordination because McArthur’s irritating statements.
