One of the aspects of English government traditions that didn't influence the leaders in the United States was monarchy. Since its creation, the United States of America was organized as a republic, instead of being organized as a monarchy. Therefore, although the English tradition of government was that of being a monarchy, the American revolutionaries decided to create a republic in which every citizen would be able to vote to decide who would be the ruler of the nation for a limited time.
