Franklin roosevelt’s new deal reforms sparked an ongoing national debate on the proper role of government. the legitimacy of roosevelt’s election. the necessity of private business. the need to end the great depression.

To end the Depression, Roosevelt launched several programs to help farmers and laborers.  He also believed that at this point Government has to do more to stimulate economy and end the Depression.

monopolies  came to the united states with the colonial administration. the large-scale public works needed to make the new world hospitable to old world immigrants required large companies to carry them out. these companies were granted exclusive contracts for these works by the colonial administrators. even after the american revolution, many of these colonial holdovers still functioned due to the contracts and land
