How white settlers and native americans viewed nature

The perspective over Nature by white settlers is quite interesting and quite different than the native american´s point of view.

In one side, European settlers were leaving war, famine and political or religious prosecution behind. To them, Nature in this new territory was a chance to thrive, get new land and resources to exploit and an opportunity to practice their religion without shackles sometimes.

For the native Americans,Nature was their homeland, their sacred place where they and their ancestors lived and obtained everything they needed for a living. Nature for them was their Mother, Goddess; the essential force wich provided support, shelter, food.
