The Supreme Court allowed gay marriage, The Affordable Care Act, and abortion rights without representation in government. England taxed the colonies; witch in itself was justified. However, somewhat similar to Puerto Rico’s current colony status, the American colonies lacked legislation representation. Today, Puerto Rico has a representative in DC but cannot vote.
