Explain how slavery influenced the economy of southern colonies

Easy as pie , Slavery influenced the economy of southern colonies. This is because southern states depended on their work. They had cotton and needed it picked so the slaves were a helping hand for it. They also used slaves for other things too but since there was no machines quite yet, slaves were very resourceful .

We just recently learned about slave ships and how they were tightly crammed together and had no room to move. Some took the chance of drowning rather than slavery as their freedom. But when north started becoming free slave states slaves immediately ran away. But some were caught and this is known as the fugitive slave act ( it requires you to return a slave if found).
