How does the play (antigone) resolve the conflict between divine authority and human authority?

antigone   is a play by the 5th century bc greek tragedy writer, sophocles, "   in the play, antigone's uncle, creon, has inherited the throne of thebes.   antigone's brothers,  eteocles and polyneices, are dead.   creon had issued an edict prohibiting a proper burial for polyneices, because he was seen by creon as a traitor. creon was justified under the law in issuing the edict which deprived polyneices of funeral rites. polyneices had died committing a treasonous act, so creon, as head of the state, could impose such a punishment.  

antigone, however, ignored her uncle's law, acted according to conscience, and buried her brother.   she saw it as a divine calling to give her brother a proper burial.   no private obligation was more sacred to the greeks than honoring one's family in death.   so she felt she had both conscience and divine authority on her side.

antigone was caught, and creon then declared that she be buried alive.   that's when the gods sent a message through tiresias, saying that it was creon's fault that the city was sick with plague. the gods were with him.   the gods' authority informed conscience and was higher than human law.

the fact that could also be added to column b is that during world war ii, specifically between the years 1941 and 1945, japan expanded its territory towards the indonesian territory in what was known later as part of the "pacific war". in that time, japan could conquer the philipines, singapore,   borneo, central java, malang, cebu, sumatra and various other islands of the area, therefore expanding its territory for a brief period of time.

the wants of children today than in colonial times are very different. as well as the roles. children now have electronics such as phones, tablets, tvs, etc. back then, kids didn’t have electronics. in the colonial times, children were expected to their parents in their work. but now, children are expected to go to school.
