How was the american public reaction different from the american military reaction? after pearl harbor

American people reacted with righteous indignation. They were sad and they needed justice for this violent attack on Pearl Harbor which resulted in more than two thousand civilians’ deaths.

It was the time when America showed its neutrality during World War II as it was in active trade with Europe along with china. Japan issued orders to America to abandon trade relationships with china and US disagreed. This annoyed Japanese and in order to demonstrate their military supremacy, Japans Fighter Jets bombed American Pearl Harbor Port which was a major flaw from the side of Japan.  

Whole American populace unanimously voted in support of war. They all gathered on the streets and cried that they needed justice for the unexpected assault on the civilians in the port. United States of America declared an immediate war that Japanese troops had no time to organize themselves to face the attack. Nuclear bombs struck Hiroshima and Nagasaki and this had a major and long lasting impact on Japan.
