Peter Zenger was a New York printer. He printed New York Weekly Journal. He criticised the actions of royal governor William S. Cosby who was corrupt.  Zenger accused the government of rigging elections and allowing the French army to explore New York harbour. Due to this he was accused of being a Libel (One who opposes the government).
