According to Edward Bellamy, Andrew Carnegie’s philosophy of philanthropy is considered to be nationalism.  Edward Bellamy thought that the Andrew Carnegie’s philosophy of amazing wealth is considered to be wrong.

He accepts Andrew Carnegie’s philosophy of philanthropy that part of the amazed wealth should be given for the development of societal needs. Bellamy openly condemns the act of accumulation of wealth by an individual if the government is in place.

He totally believed that the active role of government should take care of each and every aspect of the community. Bellamy used to narrate the government responsibility as “cradle to grave” which Carnegie’s philosophy disagrees.
