Another such was the U.S. constitution's 16th amendment. Simply put, it was an income tax amendment proposal which was earlier presented by the Congress. In the past, the Congress had made an attempt to pass a tax bill along with some tariff bill. The consequence of this was that President Taft and few other Congressmen came to the decision of introducing a constitutional amendment thereby legalizing income tax.
