Read these lines from the passage: no debt, no borrowing. there can be no freedom or beauty about a home life that depends on borrowing and debt. we two have kept bravely on the straight road so far, and we will go on the same way for the short time longer that there need be any struggle. what idea is implied when helmer speaks about money in these lines? he cannot bear to see his wife struggling. he is annoyed that his wife does not know how to spend wisely. he feels his wife needs advice about the importance of being debt free. he is resigned to the fact that his wife is not as wise as he is.
