Explanation:

The Israelites under the leadership of Moses moved out of Egypt after the ten Plagues. Their exit was told in the book of Exodus, from the way God prepared Moses to lead his people and how to get them out. Then, in the next book in the Bible, the Book of Numbers, the actual journey covering the whole duration is given.

Starting with the recording of the census of everyone who is in the journey, God asked and guided Moses in taking care of the people. The wilderness journey, as is more generally referred to about the exodus, is recorded in more detail in the whole Book, acting as a form of travel diary for the Israelites after their exodus.
