First, review the four components of the essay:

THIS IS FOR MASSACHUSETTS CONSTITUTION

Discuss general similarities and differences between your state constitution and the U. S. Constitution (in terms of government structure and document structure).
Report on whether your state constitution includes a statement or bill of rights. Summarize the kinds of rights that are protected. How do they compare with the protections in the U. S. Bill of Rights, specifically the unalienable rights?
Choose two specific unalienable rights, one that is explicitly mentioned in your state constitution and one that is implied. Why are those rights important? What are the exact words? Use quotes from the document in your writing. Do you think your state constitution protects the people of your state more or less than the U. S. Constitution? Why the difference?
Assess the merit of explicit versus general constitutional language in the protection of rights. Determine whether your state or the U. S. Constitution provides more comprehensive protections of the rights you chose. Is one way more preferable than another? Why? Use specific language from your state constitution and the U. S. Constitution to prove your case. Why do you think authors of your state constitution wrote it like this?
