As you read the court's decision, what 5 words or phrases stood out to you?

The five words or phrases which stood out to me are:

1. separate but equal - this term shows how the whites and blacks were separated in terms of facilities. The whites have their own train seats while the blacks have their own train seats as well. This was the equality they were referring too.

2. feeling of inferiority - this term shows that the blacks' being separated from the white harbors feelings of "inferiority" among them, especially among black children and their status in the community.

3. segregation - this term was mentioned several times regarding the division of races. This is something that causes an argument between the blacks and whites.

4. Fourteenth Amendment - this term supports the fact that the "separate and equal" position was not following the ratification of the Constitution through the 14th Amendment that all persons who're born in the U.S.A should be granted citizenship, including the slaves who were now free.

5. "tangible" factors - this term refers to the facilities and the like which both the whites and blacks should be able to enjoy equally. This only represents the physical facilities, which means that, other than this, they were not equal.
