He was a true hero. Andrew Carnegie didn't come from a rich family; he was born into a poor family in 1835 Dunfermline, Scotland. As soon as he immigrated to the US, he started working immediately and grew up to create one of the largest steel manufacturing companies called the Carnegie Steel Company.

Andrew Carnegie was not a hero because,he gave less money to his workers than any other companies, he gave them much more time to work for their pay as well. ... Andrew Carnegie could of raised their pay because he took $92,000 dollars and gave $2,800 to them

Yet despite his efforts, Carnegie still died rich. In his will, Carnegie gave $30 million, the bulk of his remaining fortune, to the Carnegie Corporation, which he hoped would help establish international laws and foster world peace.
