Use the map below to answer the following question: Map of Europe, Asia, and Africa, showing land and sea routes. The sea routes extending from southern Europe through the Mediterranean Sea to Egypt, Somalia, the Arabian Peninsula, Persia, Afghanistan, and Java (Indonesia), until it reaches China. There is a short red line in Egypt that connects the sea routes into and out of Egypt. The land routes extend through the northern part of the Arabian Peninsula along the eastern Mediterranean through Persia, and north of the Himalayan Mountains all the way to the eastern border of China. There are two land routes that split off from the main land route and into India. The first lies just to the west of the Himalayan Mountains that extends southward to the western Indian coastline. The second lies just to the east of the Himalayan Mountains and extends from western China to the eastern Indian coast.
