Why has the huang he (yellow river) been called china's sorrow?

Huang He or Yellow River is the third longest river in Asia and its the birthplace of ancient Chinese civilization and it was the most prosperous region in early Chinese History. It has been called the China's Sorrow because of the tragedy that the river has produced. I hope this would help
