Photosynthesis is an anaerobic process by which plant converts light energy into chemical energy, later which is used for providing energy to other organism. Energy produced is stored in the form of carbohydrates synthesized from water and carbon dioxide. Though it is performed in a different manner by different organisms, but it starts always with light energy absorbed by the reaction center such as chlorophyll pigment.

Unlike from Photosynthesis, Cellular respiration is a metabolic process that happens in the cells of living organisms converting biochemical energy into Adenosine Triphosphate and waste product. The reaction involves breaking of large molecules into small smaller molecules since energy is released during the reaction it can also be termed as an exothermic reaction.  

In both  reactions, energy is produced but in Photosynthesis it is stored for other organisms while in cellular respiration energy produced is used by the producer itself. Photosynthesis and Cellular respiration and take place in producer but consumers only possess cellular respiration.
