More than 400,000 Americans lost their lives in World War II. Following such a devastating event, why would the United States choose to get involved in the military conflict in Korea? The US had chosen to get involved in the conflict in Korea so communism wouldn't expand. North Korea was given to Russia after WII, and the US, in spite of not wanting communism to expand more and take over the globe, decided to be the sponsor for South Korea.
