Who were the central powers at the start of World War One

The Central Powers consists of  Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire.

The Central Powers began as an alliance between Austria-Hungary and Germany. Later, the Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria became part of the Central Powers. Then Germany could concentrate its efforts on Eastern Europe and Russia. Austria-Hungary - World War I began when Archduke Ferdinand was assassinated.
