In a short essay explain how the ideology of a totalitarain regime differs from that of a democratic regime

The ideology behind a totalitarian regime is that only one person should rule with an iron fist. In such a regime, the person usually considers themselves to descend directly from gods (in history) or to be better and more competent than any other person alive (contemporary). Unlike that, democracy values equality and freedom of individual people to choose their rulers or eventually become one through the democratic process of voting.
