Why did Pope condemn the teachings of Martin Luther

The Pope condemned the teachings of Martin Luther because they were contrary to the doctrine of the Catholic Church at the time, and threatened the monopoly that the Catholic had over religious authority in Western and Central Europe.

The Pope at the time was Leo X, and he was so displeased with Martin Luther, that he excommunicated him.

on the morning of  july 21,  1861, general mcdowell ordered the  unionarmy to attack. it was on this hill that  confederate  colonel thomas jackson and his forces held back theunion  troops.
