Clarence Moore who also dug many mound sites in the South believed that the construction of the Mound in the south was strongly influenced by the Mesoamerican civilization.

Archaeologists point out that the mounds in North America were built over a long period of time by various walks of life, from peasants who lived to settlers to movers. This prehistoric mound had various forms and functions. Among its functions were as a cemetery, monument, or temple as a place of worship.
