How did living on plantations in the southern colonies in the 1600s affect the way people practiced religion?
Each plantation had its own church with its own minister who lived there.
Most plantation owners shunned religion because it preached against slavery.
Few people attended regular church services because they lived too far away,
People were very strict and traveled great distances to attend regular services.
