The chief occupation is agriculture and rearing livestock. Each family member has a job and they know what it is. The men and women each have their own jobs to build houses and they use clay or cow dung to plaster their walls. Planting shared by both genders slaughtering animals is done by men only weeding is done by both genders dress making and basket weaving is done by women only.

Marriage is not arranged by the parents. If a boy likes a girl he cannot show his devotion in public or it is considered rude and uncultured. He needs to go to the girls house to ask to be adopted the girls either says yes by saying “I am willing that the son of So-and-so should be adopted into our homestead, but the ceremonial side of it is a matter for my parents. You had better talk to them about it yourselves.” If she says no she says "Our house is not big enough to adopt anyone at present.” Then the boys go away.

the boys family brings installments of livestock and leaves it at the mom’s house of the girl. They keep doing it until they have 30 or 40 different live stock. Then they plan and ceremony and the boys family and himself clean the house and then the girl moves in.
