Question: How might the urban geography of cities have looked like prior to the Renaissance?

in 14th and 15th century Italy, through the revival of ancient learning, new secular and scientific values began to replace traditional religious beliefs. people began to adopt a rational, objective, and statistical approach to reality and rediscover importance of individual and his or her artistic creativity.

answer: the time zones used to be whatever the local authority wanted them to be. one town might have 6am whenever the sun came up and another town had 6am 10 minutes later.  

the trains had a hard time when their orders said to be at a certain point at 6am.
