Thomas Jefferson added the words "All men are created equal" in the Declaration of Independence. Now Jefferson, Adams, and Franklin all revised and went over this document before submitting it to the
congressional committee, so with that in mind. My question is for you to ponder.
Was leaving the phrase "All men are created equal" an oversight? Was it intentional? or was it implied?

I honestly am really surprised by your question. Obviously it was done intentionally based on the status of black and white lives at the time. But it does seem implied to some degree based on our status of races today. But I wouldn't exactly say it was an oversight. If I had to make an answer right off the top of my head I would say it would be in between Intentional and it being implied. But it would be closer to intentional in my opinion.

here are some events that to cause increased conflict between the north and south

1) mexican cession- gaining modern day california, utah, arizona, and new mexico from mexico. caused southern and northern politicians to fight over whether or not there would be slavery in these newly acquired territories.

2) uncle tom's cabin- this famous book described the cruelty of slavery in the south during the antebellum period, causing more northerners to support abolition and southerners to resent the book as they felt it unfairly depicted southern society.

3) kansas- nebraska act- disagreements over whether or not kansas and nebraska would be free or slave states caused issues between northern and southern politicians in congress.

4) bleeding kansas- this fighting took place in kansas after congress allowed this territory to vote on whether or not they would have slavery. citizens were killed and buildings were destroyed during this fighting.

assuming that by westerners you mean americans. that they were mean and controlling and abusive to its peasants.
