Today at the Roanoke Island Festival Park they have historic costumed interpreters that are featured throughout the Settlement Site and the Elizabeth II ship to demonstrate how the first settlers lived, worked and played on Roanoke Island.

Its was established because in 1655 a fur-trading post had been established and Green Bay was the gate way that connected Fox, Wisconsin, and Mississippi rivers. Green Bay was a small town with a gate way to a trade route. At the Wequiock Falls County Park in Green Bay they have a statue of their founder Jean Nicolet.
