NO JOKING AROUND What is the reason Hawaii and Alaska are not considered part of the contiguous United States?

They were the last two states admitted to the Union.
They are not located next to the other states.
They are not on the North American continent.
They were excluded by a vote taken in the US Congress.

Contiguous means 'sharing a common border; touching' and so Hawaii and Alaska are not considered contiguous because they are not a part of the continental USA. Hawaii is an island and Alaska is connected to Canada- neither actually, touches any part of the U.S. Hope this helps :))
