Describe the impact of Diderot’s Encyclopedia on the society of the Enlightenment period.

Found this off of google, "The purpose was to change the general way of thinking, support religious toleration. The encyclopedia became a major weapon in the philosophers' crusade against the old French society. ... The encyclopedia was sold to doctors, clergymen, teachers, and lawyers, thus spreading ideas of enlightenment."
