6 amendment in your own words

the amendment basically insures that ppl get a fair trial.

The 1st amendment outlines the five basic freedoms: the freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of press, freedom of petition, freedom to peacefully assemble. These rights are also known as civil liberties. The 2nd amendment gives citizens the right to bear arms, meaning that the government can't take away a person's firearms. The 3rd amendment outlaws the forced or coercive housing of soldiers in someone's own home. The 4th amendment outlaws illegal searches, meaning that the police has to obtain a signed search warrant in order to search a person's house/property. The 5th amendment outlines due process (equal protection under the law), eminent domain (the right of the gov't to take private property for public use), the purpose of the grand jury, no double jeopardy (cannot be tried for the same crime twice), and the right to remain silent so that the accused does not incriminate themselves. The 6th amendment outlines the rights of a person accused of a crime: the right to a quick public trial by a jury of their peers, a right to a lawyer, the right to question all the witnesses of the crime, and to be informed of what they are being charged of.
