The United States government is considered a democratic because it gets its power from the people. This action set a for other countries to imitate when looking at the democracy of the USA. When a candidate runs for office they will announce which they represent and like-minded individuals will vote for them. It is illegal to prohibit anyone who is a legal citizen with full rights from voting and according to the supreme law of the land.
