Can yall summarize this for me? Colonel James Fannin commanded about 300 revolutionaries who were headed for the Alamo when one of Santa Anna’s army divisions cut them off. Sam Houston sent word for Fannin to take his men and retreat to Victoria, but Fannin’s uncertainty about how to proceed gave the Mexican army time to catch up with him and his men. Fannin eventually surrendered his men to the Mexican army and they were taken to Goliad where Santa Anna ordered them to be lined up and gunned down in what is now known as the “Massacre at Goliad.” There were There were 425-445 prisoners of war from the Texian Army of the were killed by the Mexican Army in the town of Goliad, Texas.
