What are the purposes of holy images in church? ( kinda need help, can’t find information on the internet)

to suppose of a statue or photo as the true character or to worship that statue or object would be idolatry. The reason of these sacred photos is virtually to help us human beings in our contemplation of our Lord, of His deeds, and of the saints, so that we can also draw closer to Him and be greater wholly joined to the Communion of Saints.
