Explain why the great depression caused problems for the league of nations.

First lets look at why the great depression happened. The stock market crashed, there was over production, and high tariffs. How did the great depression affect the league? well, there was now less national cooperation. Now the USA and plenty of other nations had to look to take care of themselves, instead of worrying about world peace and humanitarian issues.

Now desperate people suffering terrible economic hardship increasingly went back to the leaders offering solutions. this led to the rise of militaristic fascist governments.

Now of course Britain and France no longer wished to sort out international disputes, so that would cost them money and would further damage their trade
