   I have found useful information on the article of confederation. Some important powers of the article of confederation are who declare war, who raise and lead the army and navy, and who collects taxes. The state’s government collects taxes, but the national government is not allowed to tax the people without permission. The people who raise and lead the army and navy are the national congress. They also declare war if necessary. The strength of the new government they possess is the AC (articles of confederation) providing a framework (supporting structure) for the government of the new nation. This new nation was growing, and laws were passed to govern settlement in the northwest territory and prevent boundaries dispute (A territorial dispute or boundary dispute is a disagreement over the possession or control of land between two or more territorial entities.).  The weaknesses of the new government are the lack of power to handle important issues. These issues consist of taxes on trade, goods, and the need for one common currency. Some farmers reacted to the government is by rebelling. The group named by shay rebellion tried to shut down Massachusetts supreme court in 1786. However, they were soon brought down by the Massachusetts state militia in 1787.  

   It seems the Americans need a new government in fast. This reason is that they could barely keep the farmers in control. If they’re many farmers going against the government then they could join us. The British could recruit farmers and use their knowledge to beat the government. If the Americans don’t change their government then the British could use their weakness against them.
