Both Hinduism and Buddhism were founded in the Indian subcontinent, and one [Hinduism] is much older than the other.  Both involve the idea of dharma, the universal truth common to all, as well as including vegetarianism as a common duty.  However, in Hinduism, they worship a wide Parthenon of gods, compared to Buddhism, a way of life and rules to set it out, rather than the praise of an idol or figure.
