Jefferson declares that the right of religious freedom is “the natural right of mankind” and so should never be infringed upon.

According to this Jefferson's declaration, we established the freedom of religion that protected under the first amendment of the constitution. Nevertheless,  freedom of religion is only applied on private settings. It cannot be aplied on public settings (government owned institutions such as public schools).
