If you were a member of the Untouchables or the Shudras caste, how would you react to Buddhism? Why?

A member of the untouchables or the Shudras should have a positive reaction towards Buddhism.

They were the lowest ranked in the hierarchy of the Indian society. The member of this system is supposed to be happy about Buddhism given the fact that Buddhism was very welcoming to outcasts.

Buddha was not in support of the practiced caste system. The authority of Brahmin priests were not recognized here.

In conclusion, given that Buddhism was welcoming to members of the Caste system, I would react positively to Buddhism.

Well, if I was a member of the Untouchables I would react well to Buddhism. The main reason for that is because as a member of this caste I am at the bottom of social hierarchy, and practically have no rights in the society. On the other side, Buddhism is denouncing this caste system, which of course would affect me good, as my basic rights would be respected.

The caste system in India was established after the Aryans came to the subcontinent, which led to the great division between conquered Dravidians and the ruling class.

This closed system disabled the members of lowest classes to participate in the decision making process.
